Funding
The KLRC is a not-for-profit organisation. Donations can be made by clicking the link in the banner. The KLRC is seeking funding or partner support in the following areas:
Teaching On Country
To set up community coordinators to facilitate trips to country with all age groups. The central goal is language transmission, but healing and stronger families is a big part of this process. Partnering with NRM activities is seen as a potential way of Caring for Country while also transmitting knowledge and language.
Community Dictionaries
The KLRC wants to support dictionary making skills within communities. We are recommending Miromaa but communities may choose other programs. Resourcing dictionary making in this way requires computers and laptops. It also requires access to training and ongoing support.
Community Linguists
The KLRC believes that Kimberley-wide employment is possible by promoting the importance of language work – whether that be interpreting or in early childhood programs, NRM, education, tourism and many more. The goal is to resource at least one person in each community to carry this role. For more information see HERE
